Hadith 8:2706
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us, he said: Sa'id ibn Abi 'Aruba narrated to us, from Qatada, from Sinan, from Ibn Abbas, that Dhu'ayb al-Khuza'i narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to send the sacrificial animals (budn) with him and would say: "If any of them becomes incapacitated and you fear it will die, then slaughter it, then dip its sandal in its blood, then strike its side with it, and do not feed anyone from your companions from it."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا محمد بن بشر قال نا سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن سنان عن بن عباس أن ذؤيب الخزاعي حدث أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يبعث معه بالبدن فيقول إذا عطب منها شيء فخشيت عليه موتا فانحرها ثم اغمس نعلها في دمها ثم اضرب بها على صفحتها ولا تطعم منها أحدا من أهل رفقتك
