Hadith 8:2727
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Salih al-‘Akli, who said: I asked al-Sha’bi about *al-iqran* (performing Hajj and ‘Umrah together), and he said: "It is good, and perform whatever is easy [of the sacrificial animal]." And I asked him about *al-tamattu’* (performing ‘Umrah followed by Hajj), and he said: "It is good, and perform whatever is easy [of the sacrificial animal]." And I asked about *al-tajrid* (performing Hajj alone), and he said: "It is good." I said: "Which of them is more pleasing to you?" He said: "Al-tajrid."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا وكيع عن صالح العكلي قال سألت الشعبي عن الاقران فقال حسن وسهما ما استيسرا وسألته عن التمتع فقال حسن وسهما ما استيسرا وسألت عن التجريد فقال حسن فقلت أيهما أعجب إليك قال التجريد
