Hadith 8:2795
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Layth, from [Mujahid], who said: If the sacrificial animal becomes difficult for you when you intend to slaughter it, then hamstring it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا أبو الأحوص عن ليث عن قال إذا استعصى عليك الهدي حين تريد أن تنحره فعرقبه
