Hadith 8:2853
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Mushir narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Jabir, who said: We used to not eat from the sacrificial animals (al-budn) except during the days of Mina. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted us a concession and said: "Eat and take provisions." So we ate and we took provisions. He said: We said to 'Ata': "Do you see that he granted a concession only for the sacrificial animal of the Tamattu' pilgrimage?" He said: "No, but I do not see it as anything other than all the sacrificial animals."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا بن مسهر عن بن جريج عن جابر قال كنا لا نأكل من البدن إلا أيام منى فرخص لنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال كلوا وزودوا فأكلنا وتزودنا قال قلنا لعطاء أتراه رخص هدي المتعة وحده قال لا ولكن لا أراه إلا الهدي كله
