Hadith 8:2958
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ja'far narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata', who said: If game is struck in the *Hill* (the area outside the Sacred Precincts) and then it enters the *Haram* (the Sacred Precincts) and dies, he said: It is not to be eaten, because it died in the *Haram*. And no *diyah* (compensation/penalty) is due for it, because it was struck in the *Hill*.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا جعفر عن بن جريج عن عطاء قال إذا أصيب الصيد في الحل فدخل الحرم فقال لا يؤكل لأنه مات في الحرم ولا يودي لأنه أصيب في الحل
