Hadith 8:2985
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Jarir ibn Hazim, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr, from Ibn ‘Ammar, from Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) designated the hyena as game. And he designated for it, if a person in the state of ihram kills it, a ram.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا وكيع عن جرير بن حازم عن عبد الله بن عبيد بن عمير عن بن عمار عن جابر بن عبد الله أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم جعل الضبع من الصيد وجعل فيه إذا أصابه المحرم كبشا
