Hadith 8:2988
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Ibrahim, from Ka’b, that a locust passed by him, so he struck it with his whip and took it, then he roasted it. They said to him [regarding this], so he said: "This is a mistake, and I shall judge against myself for this [the penalty of] one dirham." He then came to Umar and said [to him what happened]. [Umar] said: "And you people of Homs have the most dirhams; a date is better than a locust."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا بن فضيل عن يزيد بن إبراهيم عن كعب أنه مرت به جرادة فضربها بسوطه فأخذها فشواها فقالوا له فقال هذا خطأ وأنا أحكم على نفسي في هذا درهما فأتى عمر فقال وإنكم أهل حمص أكثر شيء دراهم تمرة خير من جرادة
