Hadith 8:3042
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwah, from his father, who said: It is from the Sunnah that you ascend upon al-Safa when the House (the Kaaba) becomes visible to you, then you face it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عبد الله بن نمير عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه قال من السنة أن تصعد على الصفا حين يبدو لك البيت فتستقبله
