Hadith 8:306
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from al-Hasan al-‘Arani, from Ibn Udhaynah, from his father (Mujalid), that a man came to ‘Umar and asked him about the ‘Umrah. He said: "O Commander of the Faithful, I did not come to you until I had ridden camels, horses, and ships, so from where should I enter into the state of Ihram?" He said: "Go to ‘Ali and ask him." So he went to ‘Ali and asked him. He said: "From where you began." He returned to him and informed him, and he said: "I have found nothing for you other than what ‘Ali said."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ثنا وكيع عن سليمان عن سلمة بن كهيل عن الحسن العرني عن بن أذينة عن أبيه ( ( ( مجالد ) ) ) أن رجلا ( ( ( تسكت ) ) ) أتى عمر فسأله عن العمرة فقال يا أمير المؤمنين ما آتيك حتى ركبت الإبل والخيل والسفن فمن أين أهل قال أئت عليا فأسأله فأتى عليا فسأله فقال من حيث أبدأت فرجع إليه فأخبره فقال لم أجد لك إلا ما قال علي
