Hadith 8:3145
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from Ja'far, from his father, from Jabir, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If I had faced of my affair what I have turned my back upon, I would not have driven the sacrificial animal (hadi), and I would have made it an 'Umrah. So whoever among you does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him exit the state of Ihram." And there was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) a sacrificial animal, so he did not exit the state of Ihram.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن جعفر عن أبيه عن جابر أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إني لو استقبلت من أمري ما استدبرت لم أسق الهدي وجعلتها عمرة فمن كان منكم ليس معه هدي فليحل وكان مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هدي فلم يحل
