Hadith 8:3181
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Surayj ibn al-Nu’man narrated to us, he said: Fulayh narrated to us, from Nafi’, who said: Ibn Umar used to adorn his sacrificial animal (badana) before the Kaaba was covered with garments, tapestries, and Coptic cloths. Then he would remove them before slaughtering it, and he would send them to the keepers of the Kaaba as a covering for the Kaaba. When the Kaaba was covered (regularly), he ceased doing that.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا سريج بن النعمان قال نا فليح عن نافع قال كان بن عمر يحلل بدنته قبل أن تكسى الكعبة الحلل والأنماط والقباطي ثم ينزعها قبل أن ينحرها فيرسل بها إلى خزنة الكعبة كسوة الكعبة فلما كسيت الكعبة ترك ذلك
