Hadith 8:3244
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Abu Mawduda narrated to me, he said: Yazid ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Qusayt narrated to me, he said: I saw a group of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when the mosque was empty for them, they would stand by the bald pomegranate-shaped knob of the pulpit, wipe it, and supplicate. He said: And I saw Yazid doing that.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا زيد بن الحباب قال حدثني أبو مودودة قال حدثني يزيد بن عبد الملك بن قسيط قال رأيت نفرا من أصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا خلا لهم المسجد قاموا إلى رمانة المنبر القرعا فمسحوها ودعوا قال ورأيت يزيد يفعل ذلك
