Hadith 8:344
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, who said: "The one performing Tamattu' does not fast except while he is in the state of Ihram; nothing else suffices for him." I said: "Does he fast them in Shawwal?" He said: "No, except while in the state of Ihram."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن بن جريج عن نافع عن بن عمر قال لا يصوم المتمتع إلا وهو محرم لا يقضي عنه إلا ذلك قلت يصومهن في شوال قال لا إلا محرما
