Hadith 8:440

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: 'Abdah bin Sulayman narrated to us, from Yahya bin Sa'id, from Sulayman: That Ma'bad bin Harasah al-Makhzumi fell ill on the road to Makkah. His son went out to the water where his father had fallen ill, and he found Ibn 'Abbas, Ibn 'Umar, and Marwan bin al-Hakam. He spoke to them and mentioned to them his father's illness and what had afflicted him. They all said: "He should treat himself with his medicine, and when he recovers, he should perform 'Umrah, and the sanctity of the Hajj shall be lifted from him. Then, when the time of Hajj reaches him, he must perform the Hajj and [offer] what is easily available of the sacrificial animal."
