Hadith 8:504
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Ata’, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed Tawaf of the House while on his riding beast, touching the Stone with his staff, and [he did the same] between al-Safa and al-Marwa. I said to Ata’, "What did he intend by that?" He said, "To provide ease for his Ummah."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ثنا أبو خالد عن حجاج عن عطاء أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم طاف بالبيت على راحلته يستلم الحجر بمحجنه وبين الصفا والمروة فقلت لعطاء ما أراد إلى ذلك قال التوسعة على أمته
