Hadith 8:545
Abu Abdullah ibn Yunus narrated to us, he said: Abu Abd al-Rahman Baqi ibn Makhlad narrated to us, he said: Abu Bakr Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us, he said: Ziyad ibn al-Rabi’ al-Yashkuri narrated to us, from Salih al-Dahhan, he said: Jabir ibn Zayd said: Fasting and prayer do not exhaust wealth, and charity exhausts wealth but does not exhaust the body. And I do not know of anything that exhausts both wealth and the body more than the sacrificial offering of the pilgrimage (hady al-ra’ah), meaning the Hajj.
حدثنا أبو عبد الله بن يونس قال ثنا أبو عبد الرحمن بقي بن مخلد قال ثنا أبو بكر عبد الله بن محمد بن أبي شيبة قال ثنا زياد بن الربيع اليحمدي عن صالح الدهان قال قال جابر بن زيد الصوم والصلاة لا يجهدان المال والصدقة تجهد المال ولا تجهد البدن وإني لا أعلم شيئا أجهد للمال والبدن من هدي الرعة يعني الحج
