Hadith 8:583
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ghundar narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-Hakam, from a sheikh from the people of Makkah: That a pigeon was upon the House (the Ka'bah), so it fell onto the hand of Umar. He gestured with his hand, so it flew and landed on one of the houses of the people of Makkah. Then a snake came and ate it. So Umar judged upon himself a sheep.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن الحكم عن شيخ من أهل مكة أن حماما كان على البيت فخرت على يد عمر فأشار بيده فطار فوقع على مقصر بيوت أهل مكة فجاءت حية فأكلته فحكم عمر على نفسه شاة
