Hadith 8:665
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abbad bin al-Awwam narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik, from Ata, who said: I and Ubayd bin Umayr al-Laythi came to Aisha while she was performing i'tikaf (seclusion) at Thabir. He said: She had a vow upon her to perform i'tikaf for a month. He said: Her brother Abd al-Rahman used to prevent her from that, and he would say: "Staying near the House (the Kaaba) and circumambulating it is more beloved to me and better." He said: When Abd al-Rahman died, she went out.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عباد بن العوام عن عبد الملك عن عطاء قال أتيت أنا وعبيد بن عمير الليثي عائشة وهي مجاورة بثبير قال وكان عليها نذر أن تجاور شهرا قال وكان عبد الرحمن أخوها يمنعها من ذلك ويقول جوار البيت وطواف به أحب إلى وأفضل قال فلما مات عبد الرحمن خرجت
