Hadith 8:726

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Kathir bin Hisham narrated to us, from Ja'far bin Burqan, he said: Maymun bin Mihran mentioned regarding a man killing game while he is in the state of Ihram. He said: "A compensation equivalent to what he killed from the livestock, judged by two just men among you, as an offering brought to the Ka'bah." If the man finds [an animal] of the game [to offer], he offers it. And if he does not find it, then the value of its price, so he makes it food which he gives in charity to the poor. And if he does not find [that], he fasts for the food of every poor person one day.
