Hadith 8:946
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Khusayf, from ‘Ata’, regarding a man who made a vow upon himself to walk [to the Ka’bah], then he walked part of the way and rode: He said: He should look at what he rode, then he should estimate its equivalent value. If it reaches the value of a sacrificial camel (*badana*), he should buy it and offer it as a sacrifice. He said: If it does not reach that, he should give it away in charity to the poor.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن خصيف عن عطاء في رجل جعل عليه المشي فمشى بعض الطريق وركب فقال ينظر ما ركب ثم يقوم جزاءه فإن بلغ بدنة إشتراها وأهداها قال فإن لم تبلغ تصدق به على المساكين
