Hadith 8:968
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs bin Ghiyath narrated to us, he said: Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from Ibrahim, who said: If a man performs his first Hajj, he should shave. If he performs Hajj another time, if he wishes he may shave, and if he wishes he may shorten, but shaving is better. If a man performs ‘Umrah and has never performed Hajj, then if he wishes he may shave, and if he wishes he may shorten. But if he is a Mutamatti‘ (performing Hajj al-Tamattu‘), he should shorten, then shave.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا حفص بن غياث قال حدثنا جرير عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال إذا حج الرجل أول حجة حلق فإن حج مرة أخرى إن شاء حلق وإن شاء قصر والحلق أفضل وإن اعتمر الرجل ولم يحج قط فإن شاء حلق وإن شاء قصر فإن كان متمتعا قصر ثم حلق
