Hadith 31:6
Abu Usama narrated to us, from Sa’id, from Ibn Abi ‘Aruba, from Qatada, from Abu Ayyub, from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, who said: "Indeed, the people of the Fire will call out, 'O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us.' So he will leave them for forty years, then he will answer them, 'Indeed, you are remaining.' He said: So they will say, 'Bring us out of it; then if we return [to sin], then indeed we are wrongdoers.' He said: So he will leave them for the equivalent of the life of the world, then he will answer them, 'Depart into it, despised, and do not speak to Me.' He said: So the people will not despair after that with a word; there will be nothing but sighing and sobbing."
حدثنا أبو أسامة عن سعيد عن بن أبي عروبة عن قتادة عن أبي أيوب عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال إن أهل النار نادوا يا مالك ليقض علينا ربك فخلى عنهم أربعين عاما ثم أجابهم إنكم ماكثون قال فقالوا أخرجنا منها فإن عدنا فانا ظالمون قال فخلى عنهم مثلي الدنيا ثم أجابهم اخسئوا فيها ولا تكلمون قال فلم ييئس القوم بعد ذلك بكلمة إن كان إلا الزفير والشهيق
