Hadith 31:64
Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: Fudayl ibn Ghazwan narrated to us, from Muhammad al-Rasibi, from Bishr ibn Asim, who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab wrote a covenant for Bishr ibn Asim, but he said: "I have no need for it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: 'The rulers will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will stand upon the bridge of Hell. Whoever was obedient to Allah, Allah will take him with His right hand until He saves him; and whoever was disobedient to Allah, the bridge will tilt with him into a valley of fire that blazes intensely.'" He said: So Umar sent for Salman and Abu Dharr. He said to Abu Dharr: "Did you hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?" He said: "Yes, by Allah, and beyond that valley is another valley of fire." He said: And he asked Salman, but he did not inform him of anything. Then Umar said: "Who will take it [the position of ruler] with what is in it?" Abu Dharr said: "The one whom Allah humiliates his nose and his eyes, and casts his cheek upon the ground."
