Hadith 29:115
Affan narrated to us, he said: Ja'far ibn Kaysan narrated to us, he said: I heard Shadīs al-'Adawī saying: I went on a military expedition to Maysan and took a slave girl captive, and I had intercourse with her until a letter came from Umar: "Return what is in your hands of the captives of Maysan." So I returned her, and I do not know in what state I returned her—whether she was pregnant or not pregnant—so that it would be more populous for their villages and more abundant for their tax revenue.
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا جعفر بن كيسان قال سمعت شديسا العدوي يقول غزوت ميسان فسبيت جارية فنكحتها حتى جاء كتاب من عمر ردوا ما في أيديكم من سبي ميسان فرددت فلا أدري على أي حال رددت حامل أم غير حامل حتى يكون أعمر لقراهم وأوفر لخراجهم
