Hadith 29:164
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, from Ibn Lahi'ah, he said: Yazid ibn 'Amr al-Mu'afiri narrated to me, he said: I heard Abu Thawr al-Fahmi saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Udays al-Balawi came to us, and he was among those who gave the pledge of allegiance under the tree. He ascended the pulpit, praised Allah and extolled Him, then he mentioned 'Uthman. Abu Thawr said: We came to 'Uthman while he was besieged, and he said: "Indeed, I am the fourth [person] of Islam."
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب عن بن لهيعة قال حدثني يزيد بن عمرو المعافري قال سمعت أبا ثور الفهمي يقول قدم علينا عبد الرحمن بن عديس البلوي وكان ممن بايع تحت الشجرة فصعد المنبر فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم ذكر عثمان قال أبو ثور قد جئنا على عثمان وهو محصور فقال إني لرابع الإسلام
