Hadith 29:168
A sheikh of ours narrated to us, he said: Mujalid narrated to us, from ‘Amir, who said: I asked Ibn ‘Abbas—or Ibn ‘Abbas was asked—which of the people was the first in Islam? He said: Have you not heard the saying of Hassan ibn Thabit: "When you remember a grief from a trusted brother, then remember your brother Abu Bakr for what he did. The best of creation, the most God-fearing of them, and the most just of them after the Prophet, and the most fulfilling of what he undertook. And the second, the follower, whose presence is praised, and the first of the people among them to believe in the Messengers."
