Hadith 29:37
Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Shibr ibn Alqama, who said: I engaged in single combat with a man from the Persians on the day of al-Qadisiyyah, and I killed him and took his spoils. I brought them to Sa'd, and Sa'd addressed his companions, then said: "This is the spoil of Shibr, and it is worth more than twelve thousand dirhams, and we have indeed granted it to him as a voluntary gift (nafal)."
حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن الأسود بن قيس عن شبر بن علقمة قال بارزت رجلا يوم القادسية من الأعاجم فقتلته وأخذت سلبه فأتيت به سعدا فخطب سعد أصحابه ثم قال هذا سلب شبر وهو خير من اثني عشر ألف درهم وإنا قد نفلناه إياه
