Hadith 29:8
Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, who said: There was apostasy among Banu Sulaym, so Abu Bakr sent Khalid ibn al-Walid to them. He gathered a group of them in a pen and burned them with fire. This reached Umar, so he came to Abu Bakr and said, "Remove a man who punishes with the punishment of Allah." Abu Bakr said, "By Allah, I will not sheath a sword that Allah has unsheathed against His enemies until Allah Himself sheathes it." And he commanded him, so he proceeded from that direction toward Musaylimah.
حدثنا أبو معاوية عن هشام عن أبيه قال كانت في بني سليم ردة فبعث إليهم أبو بكر خالد بن الوليد فجمع منهم أناسا في حظيرة حرقها عليهم بالنار فبلغ ذلك عمر فأتى أبو بكر فقال انزع رجلا يعذب بعذاب الله فقال أبو بكر والله لا أشيم سيفا سله الله على عدوه حتى يكون الله هو يشيمه وأمره فمضى من وجهه ذلك إلى مسلمة
