Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:198

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Husayn, from al-Sha’bi, and from Shu’bah, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Salamah, that a thief was brought to ‘Ali, so he cut off his right hand. Then he was brought to him [again], so he cut off his left foot. Then he was brought to him a third time, so he said: "I am ashamed to cut off his hand with which he eats and with which he cleans himself." And in the narration of some of them: "He beat him and imprisoned him."
