Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from ‘Abdullah ibn Salamah, who said: ‘Ali used to say regarding the thief: If he steals, his hand is cut off. If he repeats, his foot is cut off. If he repeats, I shall commit him to prison.
