Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:250

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj, from al-Walid ibn Abi Malik, that Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah was brought a man. The man went to remove his shirt and said, "It is not appropriate for this sinful body of mine to be struck while wearing a shirt." He said: So Abu Ubaydah said, "Do not let him remove his shirt," and he struck him while it was on him.
