Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:258

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from al-Walid ibn Abi Malik: He said: Abu Ubaydah was brought a man who had committed adultery. He said, "This sinful body is worthy of being struck." So he removed his cloak from him, but then he refused to strike him and returned his cloak to him.
