Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:36

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Sulayman, from Ata, who said: The minimum for which a thief’s hand is cut is the price of a shield (mijan). The shield used to be valued in their time at one dinar or ten dirhams.
