Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:521

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: 'Abbad bin al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Hakim bin Hakim bin 'Abbad bin Hunayf, from al-Nu'man bin Murrah al-Zuraqi, that 'Ali cut [the hand of] a thief from the pit, the pit of the foot.
