Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:541

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Zuhri, who said: A grave robber was seized during the time of Mu'awiyah, at a time when Marwan was over Medina. He asked those who were present with him from the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) in Medina, and the jurists, but they did not find anyone who had cut [the hand of a grave robber]. He said: So their opinion reached a consensus that he should be flogged and paraded around.
