Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Abu Mus’ab ‘Ata’ ibn Abi Marwan, from his father, that the Negus was brought to the Messenger of Allah while drunk. He left him until he became sober, then he struck him eighty [lashes]. Then he ordered him to be taken to prison. Then he brought him out the next day and struck him twenty [lashes]. He said: "Eighty for the wine, and twenty for your boldness against Allah during Ramadan."
