Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:603

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Adi ibn Thabit, from al-Muhajir ibn Umayrah, from Ali, who said: A man who was drunk, or [who was to be punished] for a prescribed punishment (hadd), was brought. He said: Strike, and give every limb its due right, and avoid the face and the private parts.
