Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:62

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Idris narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from al-Sha’bi, he said: A man steals, so his hand is cut off; there is nothing upon him [i.e., no further liability] unless the thing itself is found with him.
