Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Zayd ibn Hayyan narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Qatadah, regarding a man who sold a woman while they were both free. They were seized while wearing belts (zananir) around their waists in the presence of al-Hasan. He wrote to Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz regarding them, and he wrote back concerning them that they should be disciplined (ta'zir) and placed in prison.
