Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:67

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from al-Hasan, that he used to hold the thief liable [for the stolen property] after he had been punished by amputation.
