Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from al-Mujalid, from al-Sha'bi, from Jabir, who said: Ma'iz ibn Malik came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said that he had committed adultery. He said: "Is there anyone who can testify for this?" Then he turned him away. He came a second time, and he said: "Is there anyone who can testify for this?" Then he turned him away. He came a third time, and he said: "Is there anyone who can testify for this?" Then he turned him away. When it was the fourth time, he said: "Stone him." So he threw stones at him, and we threw stones at him. He fled, and we followed him. 'Amir said: Jabir said to me, "And so we killed him."
