Hadith 19:704

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from ‘Ubayd Allah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: ‘Umar said: "I fear that a time may become long for the people, until a speaker says: 'We do not find the stoning (rajm) in the Book of Allah,' and so they go astray by abandoning an obligatory duty that Allah has revealed. Verily, stoning is a truth against the one who has engaged in illicit sexual relations (muhsan), if the evidence is established, or there is pregnancy, or confession." "And I have read: 'The old man and the old woman, if they commit adultery, then stone them both absolutely.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stoned, and we stoned after him." It was said to Sufyan: "Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stone?" He said: "Yes."
