Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 19:791

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, from Alqama, who said: We went on a military expedition to the land of the Byzantines, and Hudhayfah was with us, and a man from Quraysh was in command over us. He drank wine, so we wanted to inflict the prescribed punishment (hadd) upon him. Hudhayfah said: "Do you inflict the prescribed punishment upon your commander while you have drawn near to your enemy, so they might become greedy regarding you?" He (the commander) said: "I will certainly drink it, even if it is forbidden, and I will certainly drink it in defiance of whoever defies it."
