Hadith 19:796
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Humayd, from Bakr, who said: A man who had committed adultery with his daughter was brought to al-Hajjaj. He said, "I do not know by which method of killing I should kill this man," and he intended to crucify him. ‘Abdullah ibn Mutarrif and Abu Burdah said to him, "Allah has veiled this nation with the most beloved thing with which He has veiled Islam; kill him [normally]." He said, "You have both spoken the truth." So he ordered him to be killed, and he was killed.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن [ أبي ] عدي عن حميد عن بكر قال رفع إلى الحجاج رجل زنى بابنته فقال ما أدري بأي قتلة أقتل هذا وهم أن يصلبه فقال له عبد الله بن مطرف وابو بردة ستر الله هذه الأمة بأحب ما ستر الإسلام اقتله قال صدقتما فأمر به فقتل
