Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Maysar narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from the one who narrated to him, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, who said: I and Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib met regarding the man who, when ordered to have his right hand cut off, secretly signaled to the cupper to cut off his left hand instead. They both said: His hand is rendered useless, and the retaliation (qisas) remains in its place.
