Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Layth, from ‘Ata’, that al-Walid wanted to carry out a prescribed punishment (hadd) upon a man in the Sacred Precinct (al-Haram). ‘Ubayd ibn ‘Umayr said to him: "Do not carry it out upon him, unless he committed it (the crime) within it."
