Hadith 19:946

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from Atiyyah, from Ibn Abbas regarding His saying: "The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides," until he concluded the verse. He said: If a man wages war and kills and takes wealth, his hand and his foot are cut off from opposite sides and he is crucified. If he kills and does not take wealth, he is killed. If he takes wealth and does not kill, his hand and his foot are cut off from opposite sides. If he does not kill and does not take wealth, he is banished.
