Hadith 12:120
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hatim ibn Wardan narrated to us, from Bard, from Makhul, that he used to say: If it (the game) is absent from you for a night, and you find your arrow in it the next day and you recognize it, then do not eat it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا حاتم بن وردان عن برد عن مكحول أنه كان يقول إذا غاب عنك ليلة فإن وجدت سهمك فيه من الغد فعرفته فلا تأكل
