Hadith 12:125
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from ‘Abdullah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, who said: ‘Abdullah said: "If you shoot a bird and it falls into water, do not eat it, for I fear that the water killed it. And if you shoot game while it is on a mountain and it falls (from the height), do not eat it, for I fear that the fall destroyed it."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا أبو الأحوص عن الأعمش عن عبد الله بن مرة عن مسروق قال قال عبد الله إذا رميت طيرا فوقع في ماء فلا تأكل فإني أخاف أن الماء قتله وإن رميت صيدا وهو على جبل فتردى فلا تأكله فإني أخاف أن التردي أهلكه
