Hadith 12:192
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent us with Abu Ubaydah in a military expedition. Our provisions ran out, and I passed by a whale that the sea had cast up. We wanted to eat from it, but Abu Ubaydah forbade us. Then he said: "We are the messengers of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and are in the path of Allah, so eat." So we ate. He said: When we came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), we mentioned that to him, and he said: "If there is any of it left with you, then send some of it to me."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا هشيم عن أبي الزبير عن جابر قال بعثنا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مع أبي عبيدة في سرية قد نفد زادنا فمررت بحوت قد قذفه البحر فأردنا أن نأكل منه فنهانا أبو عبيدة ثم قال نحن رسل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وفي سبيل الله كلوا فأكلنا قال فلما قدمنا على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ذكرنا ذلك فقال إن كان بقي معكم منه شيء فابعثوا به إلي
